Tiny Home School and Tiny Folk Parent Cooperative came to be from the work of parents sharing lifestyle ideals and a commitment to offer local children a custom made education.
Our Tiny Home School (THS) curriculum is designed to allow the beauty of the seasons in the Pacific Northwest to shine into everyday experiences. Each day's skills, tasks and discoveries provide the foundation for a love of life long learning. The curriculum has elements of the European Forest School model in its primarily outdoor classroom and is inspired by Waldorf education in its approach to academics and the arts. Our program is a Waldorf-inspired/ Nature Immersion based day of play for ages 3-7 We have expanded our programs!
OUR NEW LITTLE SISTER PROGRAM: TINY FOLK Parent Cooperative (TFPC) in beautiful Durham, Ontario Canada blends the mission of Tiny Home School with a parent-led program designed to meet each child individually- Located at Glencolton Farm, we are able to interact with life on a working farm and all the animals and people that we meet each day. Our one room school house allows multi-age peers to engage in shared learning and supported socialization.
These complementary systems blend into each other naturally and allow the individual nature of each child to unfold freely. We bring a wealth of experience in both home-life and the classroom. Careful nurturance and guidance of a child's natural curiosity provides the framework for each day.
